Spoilt N Pampered Pooches: Page 1 Google Ranking and AI Booking Chatbot in Chelmsford

Spoilt N Pampered Pooches is a mobile dog grooming business based in Chelmsford. They came to us with two related problems: they were not visible enough in local Google searches to capture the demand they knew existed, and the booking enquiries that did come in were arriving at unpredictable times and going unanswered when the owner was out on a job.
We delivered a combined local SEO and AI chatbot project. The business now ranks on page 1 of Google for its core local searches and has an AI chatbot handling booking enquiries on the website around the clock.
The Starting Point
The owner runs the business as an owner-operator, with grooming work taking up most of the working day. Booking enquiries arrived through the website, by phone and through social media. There was no consistent way to handle them, and missed enquiries meant lost work. Local Google visibility was inconsistent, with the business showing up for some searches and not others.
What We Did
A combined engagement: local SEO work to improve Google ranking for the relevant Chelmsford and surrounding postcode searches, and an AI chatbot deployed on the website to handle the most common enquiries (availability, pricing, area covered, dog breed handling) and capture contact details for any enquiry the chatbot could not resolve.
The Results
Page 1 ranking on Google for core local searches. The chatbot now captures enquiries that previously went unanswered when the owner was on a job, removing the missed-enquiry problem that comes with owner-operator unavailability.
Client Quote
“These guys were great to work with and managed to get my new business site setup and on page 1 of google in no time and also sorted an AI chatbot on my site.”
Lessons for Other Essex Small Businesses
Owner-operator businesses get disproportionate value from a chatbot because the alternative is "the owner answers the phone" and the cost of missed enquiries is direct lost revenue. The combined local SEO and chatbot model works because the SEO drives more enquiries and the chatbot makes sure none of those enquiries fall through. Either alone delivers less than both together.
